Hard to say with no info provided!
See item (b) I wish to capture screens, but ... in the lower part of my Help2Help-post (a.k.a. "READ THIS FIRST BEFORE POSTING")

(Moved this thread to "General discussions")

Sorry CLHanssen, but how can you define "little" BSPeter's Help2Help post?
Plus, you provided really few information to make us in the position to help you in a satisfaction way :?

Have you fully read his post and the whole Q&A sections related to capturing problems:

Default key is [P], but - if you so wish - you can redefine through right-click > Options > Preferences > Key definitions & WinLIRC (note seperate settings are possible for Windowed mode and for Full screen mode).
If you did not define any specific location (through right-click > Options > Preferences > General ...... the options re saving of screens are shown in the "south east" quarter) screen images will be saved in BSPlayer's installation folder (default name and format: bscap??.jpg)
Not working?
Experiment with different rendering/overlay modes
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Video > Video rendering
and/or
with a different setting of "Convert captured images in software" under
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > General ("south east" quarter of the window)
(Depends also on your graphics card (and its settings and drivers)!)
Frame by frame?
Pause movie and use right (and left) arrow keys to step through the movie
(Depends also on the possibilities of the decoder/filter used!)
Other possibility?
Well, there still is the possibility offered by Windows: [Alt]/[Print screen]
followed by "paste" in a graphics package.
(Its working also depends on graphics card/overlay settings.)
So, follow those suggestions and if you need furter help provide us more info on what have you tried.

Have you defined a different shortcut to the capture action in BSplayer preferences?
Have you set a destination directory for your captured shots? Have your account the rights to write to that directory? Have you changed the default commands in preferences window (for example the name format "bscap%A3")?
What rendering mode are you using? Have you tried to change rendering mode? And the options to convert the color space (for example YV12 or YUY2 format)?
Have you tried to capture the screen by using ALT+PRTSCR and pasting it in Paint (if this doesn't work change rendering mode or open another video instance before you start the video you want to capture)?

As you can see there are a ton of info you didn't provided and which are all listed in BSPeter's "little" ( ) post.

Try them all and if you still don't get screencaps to work, post here again and tell us what went wrong..

If, instead, you succeed in this operation, please, write here how you managed to make it work so that if other users get problems like you, will have some instructions to follow to fix that issue ;)

Good luck :)

The way this user tries to get help reminded me of an earlier experience we had ..... and yes ..... I'm sure it is our old friend Chris Logan Hanssen.

Ok, it's not that you don't get the image, but it's that the images captured have 0bytes filesizes...

First of all, try to change the destination folder to .....\Documents\Images\ and not to bsplayer installation folder (probably you never set that option, so bsplayer saves the screencaps there, and with 0b size)

Plus, tell us what you have tried, STEP BY STEP, otherwise I will not help you on this topic since without accurate info we're going nowhere..

As I can see you are using a Pro version, but not the last one. First of all update to latest release, and as a PRO purchaser you are entitled for direct e-mail support from BSP team members ;)

Only concerning the topic under consideration this is a limited and condensed version of my Help2Help-post

Please DO take the trouble to read the topics covered in this post!
Index
of the topics covered below:

(1) Always mention BSPlayer's build-number (Where to download latest build?)
(2) Please also provide some info on your PC (e.g. CPU - Videocard)
(3) ...........

and further under "MISCELLANEOUS":

When posting a new topic it surely helps if you ...:
(1)
...
........ always mention the actual BSPlayer's version ("Pro" or non-pro) but especially the number (and date) of its build (as shown in BSPlayer's "About box"), e.g. "Build 940, 21. Aug 2006". Preferably always update to the latest version/build first.
...........
(2)
...
mention in your post ...... also - if it might be of interest for your "problem" (moreoften than you perhaps think, it indeed is relevant) - some information on your PC's hard- and/or software: e.g. ..... video card, your videocard's drivers and your DirectX version.
...........

Four clear and simple questions (which please reply in a similar way):
(1) What video/graphics card do you have? (Maybe it doesn't support YU12 format. Then check "Disable YV12 format")
(2) What is selected as "Rendering mode"
Quote:
Internal renderer Direct Draw surface
Internal renderer overlay (default)
Internal renderer RGB mode
Internal renderer RGB overlay
Overlay mixer
VMR 7
VMR 7 renderless
VMR 9
VMR 9 renderless
(3) Did you try all of these (including Overlay mixer) and NONE worked? (And with YUV mixing mode for VMR? Note: not available in v.1.37)
(4) What is checked under "Convert captured images in software"? YV12 formats / YUV2formats (tried different settings?)
