Try to not use codec paks!
First try to update your BSplayer version since a new one is out, then download the proper
codec for MKV files (if you don't find it search BSplayer's forum for it, there are links in many posts).
If you uninstall codec paks re-register "quartz.dll" as mentioned
here by
