Aud-X is a new coding technology (alternative to AC3).
So you can encode surround sound with Aud-X codec with
for example 128 kbps (which is much lower than AC3).
Original AC3 normally is 448 kbps. So converting the movie
sound track from AC3 to Aud-X results in saving several hundreds
of megabytes.
Aud-X DirectShow decoder is compatible with AC3filter
(both can work together), so they are not alternative to each other.
----------------------------
Aud-X stream is mp3 backwards compatible.
This means that you can play it as a normal (stereo or mono)
mp3 on any equipment which.
Whe you use our software, full 5.1 panorama will be produced
from the stream.
Creating movies with Aud-X is very easy,
since we have released a special edition of VirtualDubMod
which is compatible with our encoder.
