Aud-X Dolby Pro Logic II compatible is mp3 backwards compatible. The mp3 stereofile is now downmixed with accordance to DPLII matrix, thus when reproduced by ProLogicII decoder should result in multichannel signal. --- When reproduced with Aud-X decoder, Aud-X algorithms are used to reconstruct the complete 5.1 panorama. ---- To download it, please visit www.aud-x.com ---- Thanks to Doom9 users for all valuable suggestions and comments, which resulted in these modifications. __________________

Aud-X is a new coding technology (alternative to AC3). So you can encode surround sound with Aud-X codec with for example 128 kbps (which is much lower than AC3). Original AC3 normally is 448 kbps. So converting the movie sound track from AC3 to Aud-X results in saving several hundreds of megabytes. Aud-X DirectShow decoder is compatible with AC3filter (both can work together), so they are not alternative to each other. ---------------------------- Aud-X stream is mp3 backwards compatible. This means that you can play it as a normal (stereo or mono) mp3 on any equipment which. Whe you use our software, full 5.1 panorama will be produced from the stream. Creating movies with Aud-X is very easy, since we have released a special edition of VirtualDubMod which is compatible with our encoder. Please visit www.aud-x.com to download the VDM and our coded and read more. If you have further questions, I'd be happy to answer
