I have BS.Player Pro v2.32, build 975, and it can't play HDTV.1080i mpg files properly. Can someone please assist me in resolving this problem? It opens the file, but the playback is choppy and unwatchable. I've included a link to such a file (which by the way it just might be Christina Augilera's best ever version of "Beautiful" ... so enjoy). If I recall correctly, this file have some small problems. To play it, you need at least one 2,6 x 2 CPU and a good MPEG 2 decoder. My PC, Core Duo 2,2 with 2 GB DDR II@800 play the file at the edge of quality using Elecard MPEG2 decoder. So, wich MPEG2 decoder do you use and what are your CPU specifications ? |

As you recall? This is a very new file, performed by the artist and created barely three (3) days ago, so what you recall sounds a bit like "bs" to me. This file (and others like it) plays perfectly on my computer with VLC player. Therefore, I doubt my CPU specifications has anything to do with why BS.Player won't play it properly. However, I have a Intel Pentium 4, 2.80GHz processor with Hyperthreading technology. Running XP media center, sp3. I have no idea what, if any, MPEG2 decoder I have. How do I determine this? I know that I have K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 4.1.7 installed. |

I don't know what adicoto meant by saying "If I recall correctly", maybe he downloaded it 3 days ago and tested it with other hundreds of files, so it can be plausible that he can't recall things about something "new" (I can't exactly remember what I eat the day before yesterday :P ) Anyway, next time you want to check which codec/filter is used by BSPlayer to decode your movies, just start playing the video file, then right click on BSplayer and select Option -> Filters -> Advanced menu item ;)

Thanks for your input, but knowing what codec BS.Player is using when attempting to play a file that doesn't play properly, is far less important than determining what codec BS.Player needs in order to play a particular file. So how do I determine that if and when I have a similar problem in the future? As to the rest of your comments = rubbish! |
