Unhappy Can't play inbuilt subtitles

Hello, I'm new to BS Player and having some trouble loading subtitles in my MKV files.

My setup is as follows:
BS Player Free (only downloaded tonight so the latest one)
Rikomagic MK802 Mini PC with Android 4.0
TV
HDMI cable between the TV and the Mini PC
Measy Air Mouse + Keyboard
Accessing dual audio MKV files with multiple optional subtitle tracks built in over a wireless LAN

Result:
I can freely change between the audio tracks as I wish but nothing I do seems to make any subtitles come up. The player recognises the subtitles are there, they both come up in the subtitles list, and selecting either one brings up a message saying that the subtitles were successfully loaded. They aren't though and when I go back into the subtitle list the spot has disappeared next to the selected track as well.

I also loaded a different file that did not have its own subtitles and used the online search for subtitles feature built into BS Player Free and it found and loaded various files from that list easily. They displayed perfectly.

The subtitles I wish to display in my MKV files are not available online and they are already present and recognised within the file itself so if anyone could help me display them, that would be a great help!

The device also came with its own media player that can display these inbuilt subtitle tracks but I've heard that BS Player is so much better so I really want it to work. I'm not the sort to give up on a potentially awesome program just because it's giving me a half hour of headache ;P

Default

Embedded subs in mkv should work fine. We will check it.
