Default Subtitles on overlay not centered!

When I use overlay mode 1 subtitles are not centered and placed little bit to the right and when I look at the picture on TV (using ATI theater mode) there is a black stripe at the right side making my picture quite smaller.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

I had the same problem, and using overlay mode 2 helped me get rid of 'the black stripe' (maximizing the picture) .. the problem with overlay mode 2 is; i now can't get the sub on the tvscreen at all !!! .. bsplay just crashes when i try to load the subs (with 'draw subs in overlay' ON).

anyone with a solution ?

ok i figured it out -> still using overlay mode 1 :

rightclick the movie en go to properties in the menu en select DIVX Decoder Filter -> and disable YUV extend mode.

The screen is now maximized ..

hope this helps

Your solution is great, but it only works with movies coded with divx decoder. Do you have any suggest for XviD?

I just realised iam writing on the same problem in my own thread.

Bsplayer doesnt center all the movies and leaves a black area into right side of the screen, this with Tvout.

Divx movies seem to work well but some Xvids are having problems.

Try power dvd 4 XP with problematic movies, all my vids ok, but doesnt have the nice subtitle support :/

in my case, this is not related to one codec or another, neither a movie or another.

it seems that somewhere is stored information about resolutions or something like this, and I've got periods with movies centered, and other periods with non-centered movies. Seems also that changing resolutions from 1024x768 to 800x600 (for TV) is not good at all for this problem :-/

to be honest I'm fed up with this, because I have to use Custom Pan&Scan at every change of file ... but I'm here to find a solution :-)

This is just a guess, please comment: I noticed, watching the whole movie with black strip on right, that at some point, subtitles are written to the black area, so it would be possible that the size of overlay is adjusted to max size needed to draw subtitles. If this is the case, then everything that we have to do, is to split the subtitles, that are cousing trouble, to more lines.
