Error playing divx movies. Related to minidivx.ax

Brilliant prgram, best player I've used.

Anyway, got a problem playing divx encoded movies. Think the problem only relates to divx and no other codec.

When I try to play a movie, explorer crashes with details:

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: minidivx.ax
ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 00003894

Movie still plays in bsplayer when explorer crashes, but wmp is completely unstable.

Could this be a codec conflict. Shame, because my system seems to be running quite well at the moment and haven't been forced to use good old Linux that much. PC spec is:

AMD Athlon 2200xp
512 pc2700
creative soundblaster audigy
geforce4 ti4600
Running xp sp1
using bsplayer 0.86
divx 5.0.5
latest xvid and ffdshow
