Huuuummmm.... Have you tried another player, such as MediaPlayer Classic??? If so, does it exhibit the same problems??? If it does, then it might be because of either your file (badly encoded or encoded using a specific Xvid feature which might be buggy...) or your computer as a whole (conflict somewhere in your drivers or something...)....
