Default display error with mpeg2 decoder

i use the powerdvd v4 video decoder to watch mpeg2 streams in bsplayer (b499). but i get strange vertical lines in the picture. if i play the video with the same decoder in wmp i don't get them, neither do i get them in powerdvd itself. take a look at the shots below.

Yes, I know, I have the same problem with mpeg2 video files and Overlay Mode 1. It only happens with some files, though.
Switch to Overlay Mode 2 and there will be no more vertical lines.
Btw, they are not visible on the shots you posted. lol

Sorry, indeed after grabbing the pic and watching it zoomed a little bit I saw the cup doesn't have smooth margins.
Just curious: was my suggestion any good, because this is not what I was experiencing on my mpeg2 videos. :?

no, even without overlaymode i get these effects.

i tried some alternative mpeg2 decoders and it seems just the powerdvd engine and bsplayer don't like each other. i'll try the decoder of powerdvd 5.0 if it's available, maybe that one will do the trick...
