Anti-aliasing is gone from video files!(After installing XP)

This is a very odd and frustrating problem, since I can't find ANYTHING on it anywhere else on the internet, but today I upgraded my OS from ME to XP and now whatever video file I play it stays all pixelated and blocky and not anti-aliased at all when fullscreened. The video playback is also noticeable choppier and not as smooth. Any suggestions why this is happening? I can't take it anymore!
