Maybe there is just a wrong header into the avi??? Because i using decompressed 24bit AVIs as source for conversion and they INDEED are playable into BSplayer too! Not only into mediaplayer... ...yes, there IS a bug, when i open the uncompressed file trough AVIsynth, it get wrong colors (blue look), but playback always worked. Make sure the headers are okay ...and agreed, BSplayer have to be more tolerant, like the MS one are...

A problem, maybe, but here's a thought. How's about saying please also instead of just "BSPLAY team! FIX THIS!"?? I mean, that IS why the damn thing is still in build releases and not a final product, right? So that the team CAN work on these issues?

Bsplayer is not opening a file only if it can't find a codec to decompress it. So, install a dv codec and it will work ok. It needs those codecs because it don't use win mediaplayer to render them. An uncompressed avi file it takes something like 6 GB for 10 sec. Are you sure they are not compressed ? Or is a codec that WMP has built-in suport ?
