Default DIV3 files not supported?

I just downl'd bs player and wanted to check it with a file, and it says div3 not supported, I went to settings, and could'nt find anything to fix this bug
Any suggestions?

Try installing DivX codecs. You need at least DivX 3.11, but you can also use 5.02. It plays any DivX video.

I believe it happens when the file is corrupted although I don't think that's the only possible source for this message...

[I've edited manually a divx5 file a few days ago, of course I did that so badly it became corrupted and bsplayer told me something like: "not supported: DIVX" ]
