Default problem solved...

I had the same problem just some minutes ago!

What happened?
Let's start one week ago, where everything was playing fine and just the way it was supposed to.

A friend came with a VCD and we HAD to install the elecard player in order to watch it - no other mpg2 player on my machine did this or crashed.
So we watched the movie and it played fine.

I just wanted to watch some standup comedy that was encoded with DIVX and at 48000hz. That was never a problem before.
But this time, the video lagged extremely and was getting worse and worse. So there was not so much to laugh about :-(

I searched this forum and tried all video settings (other overlays, etc..)
But then I remembered: "Didn't you have this problem before once?"
And yes, it's easy:

Just uninstall the elecard player. It has an audio-decoder that doesn't work very well I think. Or I missed to configure it right.
But after uninstalling, everything worked fine again.

Maybe, that will help in your case also... just in case you also have the elecard player installed (which is also great but... you know..)
