Not playing WMV and ASF

I downloaded the latest version of BSplayer today, i have the problem that it does not play WMV and ASF files, whenever i click on one BSPlayer says, that this is an Unknown file format ().

I can play the files with the windows media player.

I really dont know whats wrong, maybe some of you can help

Install WMP codecs 9 from Microsoft site.

i tried that, it did not help
i doubt its a codec problem, as i said, its playing fine in windows media player

Hi. Just the WMP9 codecs won't do it. If you don't have WMP9 itself installed, you need to install the wmfdist.exe runtime files package from the SDK. First d/l the SDK from here: http://wmlicense.smdisp.net/v9sdk/ , they must email you the url. Install sdk on some test bed. Do a find for wmfdist.exe--copy and execute on your dream machine.
