Build 810: no sound for ogm In the Audio menu, no stream is automatically selected, but selecting one doesn't change anything. It works fine with build 808, and also with avi files in build 810. (windows 98se) |

Works fine for me on WinXP. I'm using the DirectShow filter (ogg splitter) from Tobias (http://tobias.everwicked.com/). Are you sure that it's only a ogm problem? |

I've tried with many avi files and all are ok. Even an avi with 2 audio streams. Tried an mpeg which has sound too (the only other one I have makes bsplayer crash). I have no idea which ogg splitter I have here. It's simply called "Direct Show Ogg Vorbis Filter" in the config panel program manager. Hmm... It's probably coming from this "OggDS0995.exe" archive dated april 2003. Looks like it's the same as you. Edit: sound also works for ogm in windows media player 6, as well as build 808. |

I tested it under WIn98SE, too, and it worked for me. "OggDS0995.exe" is what I have, right. What do your audio settings (options -> preferences -> Audio) look like? Try changing the output device. Is "Use internal vorbis decoder" enabled? Did you try several ogm files? What audio format do they use (Press Alt+3 to see what audio codec was used)? |

Okayyy, thanks to your questions I think we've narrowed it down to something ;-) There is no sound when: - "Use internal vorbis decoder" is enabled AND - The output device is DirectSound ("System default" , "Default DirectSound Device" or "Directsound: Creative SBPCI DirectSound Driver") The files I tried contain Ogg Vorbis audio (2 ch 48kHz). It works when I untick "Use internal vorbis decoder" or when I select another output device ("Reproduction du SB PCI128" or "Default WaveOut Device"). I've got DirectX 9 installed. Thanks |
