BSPlayer freezing my PC

Hello:
I have had a problem with BSPlayer locking up my PC when playing large video files. The audio goes into a tight loop and the only way out is to reset (Cntl Alt delete doesn't work, mouse curser will not move, no response to anything else).
I have tried replaying the files and this happens at different places in the file or sometimes not at all, so it doesn't seem to be a consistant fault with the video file.
