Default Bsplayer can't play this formats, help!

Im having a recent problem with some AVI files, ASF and DIV3 and maybe others. When I load them in bsplayer, the audio works fine but I get a dark screen with a few squiggly lines along the top. Whats wrong here?

Another issue is that some files I play, when I into preferences / video, all of them are greyed out and I cant change brightness level. Is there any way around that?

Thanks!

I just noticed the same thing happens with AVI DIVX files.

I dont have windows media player

the files dont work in media player classic, then i get the same diagonal lines across the top (but a green screen).

the files DO work with Divx Player - the video lags and skips but thats because of this computer.

Thats why I need them all to work with bsplayer, its the only program on this computer that can sync the video to the audio without lagging.

I think you should update your codecs:

And also WMP codecs from Microsoft site.

You do have WMP, it comes with windows.

I have been updating codecs the past week, I got all of those plus k-lite, divx 521, smr, xvid, mpeg2.

I dont have media player because I uninstalled it.

So what are these diagonal lines across the top half of a blank screen when using bsplayer, Ive never seen them before.

I dont understand how these codecs work, arent they for the entire system and not individual programs? And if thats the case, why do ASF files work only on media player classic and not divx player or bsplayer, and why do Divx files work only on divx player and not media player classic or bsplayer?

its really annoying, the only player i want to use is bsplayer but all of a sudden its got these damn issues.

With proper codecs, BSPlayer can play any video format. Including asf, wmv and MPEG2.
K-lite is a codec pack. Try to uninstall it, because codec packs usualy generate more troubles.
Check that in DivX settings, the option "support generic MPEG4" to be disabled. ANd don't forget to install XviD codec, also with option to decode all supported formats unchecked.
