My best guess is that the file is encoded with a newer version of XviD (see the link above for download). In this case uninstall ffdshow and install XviD. Second guess is that you didn't installed a newer version of FFDshow. |

The most usual codecs used for MPEG4 compresion on .avi files are DivX and XviD. Each of them can decode the other one, but sometimes they fail. FFDshow's purpose is to have a filter to decode both of them. But it also fails, more times than the codecs.
