Green dots/garbage fix

so i was getting this a lot with AVI's, and after doing a search here+reading the FAQ, the said solution was to check "Support Generic Mpeg-4" on the DIVX properties, and install all the latest codecs+drivers..well after doing all this i still got the green mess.

you have to check "overlay extended mode" in the DivX properties. blah. sorry if this solutionw was posted somewhere, I couldn't find it

Overlay extended mode prevent you to use brightness\contrast controls, so I suggest not to use it.
Green dots usually appear from an old XviD decoder (or ffdshow). So, open the movie and in filters see what filter is used to decode and post here. Or simply update it.

my filters used for it are:

Default DirectSound Device
XVID MPEG4 video decoder (latest version)
MPEG audio decoder

IS it ver 1.03 or 1.1 ?
