image is frozen and sound still going on

when I play some of my AVI, the film is ok for a few seconds and then the screen is frozen but the sound still goes on.

It happens whether the film is a Divx 4 or 5 or a Xvid.

have you ever heard of it?

I've also had that problem with xvid file.
