I have the same problem on my second computer, win 98, on my first computer it works (also win98). After installing the debug version it worked, but different important options were not available in this version. The bsplayer.log: Load filter Init dll... 14:58:55, 07.12.02 - BSplayer starting Windows version 4.10 Build 1998, BSPlayer version 0.85 Build 492 Screen resolution: 800x600, 32 Saving Registry key -- REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\BST\BSPlayer] -- Loading skin...OK |

Same here. Win98SE, Celeron 466, TNT2, DirectX 8.1. Right after the install and a few times right after booting my computer BSplayer 0.85.492 worked just fine, but most of the time it looks as if the program doesn't start. However, Task Manager shows a running (?) process called "bplay.exe", which can be killed easily without any further error message. The debug vesion, on the other hand, works _always_, but it takes very long to start and load files (playback is just fine). Maybe this will be of any help for the programmers: I've used ATM ("Another Task Manager") on the hanging bplay.exe-process to see what modules are opened: It shows only advapi32.dll, bplay.exe, gdi32.dll, kernel32.dll and user32.dll, while with the debug version it shows 26 more modules right after startup (i.e. without loading/playing any file). In http://www.bsplayer.org/bspforum/vie...c2e75cf4f2ca54 "Jim Beam" wrote on the same topic: >- all 0.84 releases (builds 460-843) played movies correctly (with subtitles). Last functioning version was 0.84.843 >- all 0.85 releases (builds 844-892) had the same behavior - they were only in Task List Does anybody know where I can download these older versions to try them out on my system? |
