I have the same problem, but only when im having a preview window open of some video input source. You could also try to disable the overlay usage for divx movies. See programs->divx->divx codec->decoder configuration. Select 'Quality Settings', and uncheck 'Overlay extended mode' (Divx v5.0.3)
In some rare occasions i have seen that some codecs have issued some warning, or error, and requires one to click OK. Its usually behind all other windows. Minimize each window to find out. Usually appears in middle of desktop.
