You need an MPEG2 decoder (also reported on the homepage).
Search the forum for adicoto's list of codecs. There you can find links to 3 of them (one free)

BSPlayer can't play DVDs using ANY MPEG2 decoder. So, search and install for example InterVideo's decoder.

Lucky you. Maybe a newer version can do the job. I am using a rather old one.

Maybe you should update your version since also J7N has no problem in playing DVDs with Elecard

I am so familiar with my old decoder I can't change it :) I've tested some newer decoder some 6 month ago and the quality was much lower than the version I do have (and doesn't require registration). So, I will stop saying that Elecard it's not working but still rely on InterVideo's one. Elecard remains for generic MPEG2 files, such TS, VOB and M2V

Can you post a screenshot with the filters used to play a DVD with DTS audio please, so I can see the filters used on your computer, maybe I will convince mine to do the same ? Thank you.

:oops: I tried to play a DVD and... once again Nero was playing the streams and Elecard wasn't able... but the playback was really choppy (and in my previous tests I am sure that that DVD played smoothly and the decoder was Elecard )
I recently formatted-and-reinstalled my system OS/programs and after that I didn't tried to play a DVD (until now) and I can't understand what went wrong..

BTW as you reorted it seems that Elecard is not able to decode DVDs
You are right and I was wrong, sorry

My version of Elecard is newer by a minor build (v2.0.2525). It's full version without the overlaid logo. AFAIK, the only thing this demultiplexer in combination with its decoder can't handle is multi-angle streams.

I can't say whether it works with BSPlayer v2.0 or not (it does in v1.36). Sorry for the confusion I caused, but to my understanding the process older versions of BS do can also be called "DVD playback". I could test the filter's behavior with BS 2.0 if I had access to the player (w/o installer of course).

Edit:

*deletes the pirated version*

Foxx ::

To play DVDs I had installed:
- BSPlayer Pro v2.0.937
- AC3Filter v1.01a
- Elecard MPEG2 decoder v2.0.2525

Tizio ::
You were not wrong! ;)

You're welcome, Tizio. 8)

Concerning DTS audio... Ac3Filter v1.01a has an option to accept DTS input, but I have no Digital Theatre System streams to test.

Update ::
Found a VOB with DTS (Back to the Future 2). Looks like Elecard MPEG-2 Demultiplexer v2.0.84.30429 doesn't want to output DTS, while the DTS is valid and decodes properly using AC3Filter v1.01. I got no IFOs and therefore unable to test with the "DVD Source" of BSPlayer 2.

You could give a try to the new Nvidia MPEG2 decoders, it is viewed as one of the best now.
