- Did you think to upgrade DirectX to v7 or more?
- What can you read in c:\BSplayer.log?

I have DirectX 8.1 (4.08.01.0881) installed and I have Microsoft Windows 98 SE (4.10, Build 2222).
BSPlayer 086.493 don't created log file.
When I run BSPlayer 086.493 debug ver, it's create log file but I can't find somthing interest in there only system information and nothing about errors.

I think I have the same problem as vio_man he write:
BSPlayer 0.86.493 won't start under Windows ME
I can't get BSPlayer 0.86.493 to run under Windows ME. It remains resident in memory but nothing happens. Under Windows XP it works fine.

P.S. Forgive me for my English

I'm not sure if upgrading to DirectX 9 is a real solution. I have weak memories that it's designed for XP and not for Win98 or 2000!
So be carefull, otherwise your system won't run at all and microsoft disabled downgrading/ uninstalling of DirectX!!

I think it was from version .089 on that it didn't run anymore on Win98.
BST did some internal changes I don't know which.
Go get XP, it's quite stable and comfortable!
