MP4 is a container. It has one video stream, that must be decoded by a codec or filter, such as DivX, XviD or RM, some audio streams and some text files (subtitles). To play the video part you need to split the streams, using a splitter (that comes with the 3ivx codec) but also the codec or filter. Be sure you have them installed.
