I have problem to run few files I have: Win 7 x64 BSplayer ver 2.53 build 1034 K-lite codec pack full 6.04 (which i tried to reinstall) When i want to run 3 video files (1 wmv, 1 mpg and 1 avi) i get the same error window. http://www.yourimage.name/data/TN/20...79b84515c4.jpg I installed K-lite on install default and i did not change nothing. What is the problem? ------- I ran codecmanager.exe and there weren't on the list: AC3 filter and MPEG2 decoder, i downloaded with it. Here it is this image too: http://www.yourimage.name/data/TN/20...e6360dfacc.jpg |

I've always and consistently advised against using codec packs! I would think especially on Win7 the use thereof should be off-limits. |
Can you give me some suggestion except that one which you mentioned? |
WMV, AVI and MPEG doesn't have common codecs. So, there is no codec that can be used to play all 3 files and be missing. So, I believe you let BSPlayer install codecs through codecmanager, and they didn't installed because UAC was not disabled or Program files folder it's still "read only" . Windows 7 doesn't report that the filters didn't installed. Nice trick. Anyhow, WMV should be runing without any other codec. Suggestion 1: download and run MPC. Try the files you mentioned. If all 3 files play OK, codecs are with the problem. If not, then the files are fakes, downloaded from internet. Suggestion 2: UNinstall BSPlayer and it's codecs. Uninstall codecpack. Reinstall codecs or codecpack. Install BSPLayer without downloading filters. |
If you meant on Media pleyer classic i already have it and i tried with it. I will reinstall BS and codec. But please tell me which are BS configure files? And i have one more problem. From time to time when i want to close BSplayer i get non response for it and i have to shut down from task manager. I have that with previous ver too. |
So, MPC play the files or not ? |
Doesn't play. I do not know why this happen but many other files are work. With k-lite codec pack i got mediainfo. when i use it to see files with MediaInfo it doesn't show nothing. Just the path of file and size. For one file (avi) where is only sound starts it shows all other infos about file. I searched for other avi files on HDD. I found one into game, it is avi and it has only about 1MB. I get the same codec error and when i want to see mediainfo about that file i do not get nothing. Here it is the file: association.avi The file is from NBA 2k10 Other are very big for upload. |
If mediaInfo does not identify the codecs, then there are 99 % chances that the file isn't an audio/video file but a file with a changed extension. Downloaded the sample, does not play with any of my players, so I believe it's not an A/V file. When I will reboot I will login under Linux to see if the file can be played there (I doubt, but wiill test) |
And....? I please answer and my 2 questions too. I asked which are config files and why when i want to close BS it is very often non responded |

It is not answered. I did what is mentioned there. Any way can you tell me which are configure files of BSplayer (i ask you this 3rd time) :(( |
Win 7 stores BSPlayer's config files (bsplayer.xml) in: C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\BSplayer PRO Usually, that behaviour it's caused by a non-responsive filter (codec). |
The files are probably damaged. Anyway i downloaded them before now i wanted to check them to see do they need me anymore. When i saw 4 files are not working i decided to check what is wrong. About this question which i asked above: http://forum.bsplayer.com/answered-s...html#post41011 I did what you told me. I unchecked 'read-only' for all BSplayer folders (i did that for program files and p.f. (x86) folder). When i check properties for any BSplayer file all files are uncecked from 'read only'. |
Why do you ignore me :((( |
Usually, BSPlayer's bookmark file it's stored (under windows 7) in C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\BSplayer PRO\bsplay.bkf The whole path must include un-read only files and folders. |
It is all how you said. I did that i previous topic (i above gave link) and after that i still have from time to time non response time when i want to close BSplayer. All other is work perfect! |
So, bookmark problem it's solved. Just the problem with hungup aplication from time to time ? Can you find something incommon between the files that you play when BSPlayerstops responding (same video codec, same audio codec... ? ) |
Yes, it is solved the 1st one, i found cfg file. I reinstall BSplayer and codec pack I did not fallow that. But when it happen again i will see with MediaInfo what codec are. Then i will post here. |
It would be a good thing to note what codec was used to decompress the file and also what's the codec that was used to compress the file. Will be a great deal of help. |

This is a total mixture of media files. They have nothing in common, so I believe the problem lies elswhere. I will get back. |
Do have any new idea? I already have a new problem but that's probably with codec. I will open a new topic. |
Sorry, I was out for the weekend. |
A new weekend is coming again :( This is very annoying. I never was so unsatisfied with BSplayer as now (i use it over 3 years). When i create playlist and i want to go to a next video (or when video is finished) then it want to crash too. |
adicoto, why do you ignore me? |
I am not ignoring you. Just that I don't have for now a solution. The problems are too different to be caused by the same thing (unless it's BSPlayer itself). Which version do we talk about ? 'cause playlist problem was solved some builds ago. |
It is 2.53 build 1034 |
Can you upgrade to at least 1035 ? |
I was on holiday. I thought i fixed the problem with 2.56.1043 verision but today had happen the same and old problem :((( |
Will we continue to work on this problem? |
As I stated above, those files have nothing in common. The problem lies elswhere. As you installed a newer version, my last ideea is that the problem cn be found in Direct Show. So, my last advice is to install a newer version of DirectX. Prior to that, for the files listed above, can you post the filters used to decode the files ? Each filter for each of the files. Probably the single filter common to all files will be quartz.dll, the core of Direct Show (I hope). |
Sorry, but i foreget the names of those files. Only to wait for a new no response file where i will check again. When i want to check filters do i have to go: Options > Filters > Andvanced ? I downloaded this to update directx "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer" it is already updated. But i think i need it for DirectX 11 to update (mt gpu is 5770) do i need to download this? DirectX End-User Runtimes (February 2010) download from Guru3D.com |

This movie had 1 time problem when i tried to close BSplayer and i get no response window. Format : AVI Format/Info : Audio Video Interleave File size : 702 MiB Duration : 1h 47mn Overall bit rate : 916 Kbps Writing application : VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.1 (build 2366/release) Writing library : VirtualDubMod build 2366/release Video ID : 0 Format : MPEG-4 Visual Format profile : Advanced Simple@L5 Format settings, BVOP : Yes Format settings, QPel : No Format settings, GMC : No warppoints Format settings, Matrix : Default (H.263) Codec ID : DX50 Codec ID/Hint : DivX 5 Duration : 1h 47mn Bit rate : 795 Kbps Width : 608 pixels Height : 332 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 25.000 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.157 Stream size : 609 MiB (87%) Writing library : XviD 1.0.3 (UTC 2004-12-20) Audio ID : 1 Format : MPEG Audio Format version : Version 1 Format profile : Layer 3 Codec ID : 55 Codec ID/Hint : MP3 Duration : 1h 47mn Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 112 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Stream size : 85.8 MiB (12%) Alignment : Aligned on interleaves Interleave, duration : 40 ms (1.00 video frame) Interleave, preload duration : 504 ms http://www.imageurlhost.com/images/i...pbbjaoxqv8.jpg Is this what you looking for? Now i started several time the same movie, jumped over the file then i closed and i didn't get problem again. |
Should be fine to see all the filters used. WOW64 folder it's used in a Windows 64 bit environement to run 32 bit applications. If you are running 64 bit windows, should install 64bit ffdshow. It may be an incompatibility between. Not sure, but worth try. http://www.freecodecs.net/fc/ffdshow...100902_x64.zip |
I wont get any problems bcz i use 32bit and now i have to install over it 64bit? http://www.imageurlhost.com/images/3...3m0ugocajv.jpg http://www.imageurlhost.com/images/1...n5i7nhs3zd.jpg http://www.imageurlhost.com/images/z...4yjx914438.jpg http://www.imageurlhost.com/images/5...z2673ohnd1.jpg http://www.imageurlhost.com/images/y...o0r0eijzam.jpg http://www.imageurlhost.com/images/f...gnzvs4ogp9.jpg |
1. You installed ffdshow from a codec pack. Not the best thing to do. 2. It's installed in x86 folder, so it's clear that is the 32 bit version. 3. Uninstallin it's not my best advice right now, as it comes from a codec pack. I've seen some messed up systems after uninstalling codec packs. But it may be the cause. 4. Post the "source " filter too. |
