How to load subtitles?

I tried pressing on "load subtitles" and clicked the file witht he subtitles, but it didn't show? whats wrong?

BSPlayer can handle text based subtitles, with .srt, .txt, .sub extension. The size of a text subtitle is about 20-50 kB.
DVD subtitles, wich are in graphic format are not supported, but have the same .sub estension. The size of a subtitle is 3-10 MB. Is this is your case, then please instal vobsub, a utility that can display them.
