Default BS player + mpg-files

This is a normal DVD-standard video file with an ".mpg" extension. But BSP recognizes it as a plain audio file. Why is it so? I have not the slightest idea...

To reproduce video part of MPG files you need an MPEG2 codec.
Install a DVD player or download MPEG2 decoder such as Elecard or BitCtrl one..

I DO have mpeg2 codec in the system. These mpg-files play normally in WinDVD_7 and MPClassic. Besides there are some video editors on my comp which also come with their mpeg2 during the install. May be you have some other suggestions?

Wich one of your codecs is used when playing the MPG file?
You can check this by right-click in BSplayer and select Options -> Filters.
You can also give priority to decoders in BSplayer preferences under Filter management section, so you can white list or black list some of your filters and see which one can decode your movie..

Remember to select the option "Allow intermediate filters" under that section

Tizio, thanks a lot! :) I found out that for rendering my mpg was used Ligos mpeg splitter. In Filter managment in the tab Filter priority I put MPEG2 Splitter PIXELA and BS Player understood my mpg-video file properly!
