Default DVD not playing

I can't seem to get a DVD to play in bs player. The screen remains black without sound. The DVD is fine because I've used it in other players. I messed with the rendering options and those didnt seem to help. I've even put in the dvd VOB files seperately and it plays very fragmented and choppy. I have bsplayer pro. any suggestions?

Use another MPEG2 decoder

What decoder is used by BSplayer when playing VOB files (right-click -> Options -> Filters -> Advanced)?
Try to use Elecard decoder.
For the NO-AUDIO problem install AC3Filer, the problem should go away

If you have avi2dvd installed try uninstalling it, fixed my problems :)

update:
Nero caused some other problems for me, however, they were resolved by uninstalling nero, sucks if they cant co-exist, but for some reason it worked fine a few days ago, but its not important, i dont use nero that much anyways

You can try installing a lite version of Nero that doesn't include media filters, possibly interfering with DVD playback. I can supply you with a 12.5 MB basic Nero 6 package or you can visit http://updatepack.nl for a Nero 7 installer.
