BS Player works on other computer except on this one

I understand VLC is special, but it can't seem to play these two files on this PC and works fine on other PCs. I'm playing this off a CD, so any explanations or fixes?

I have tried opening two large avi films "Mean machine" and "Strangers on a Train" with BS player. I see the player starting and then it exits itself automatically without displaying any video...

Hi,

I have a Win XP Pro OS and lots of ram. I am able to play some XVid, Divx, avi, and mpeg movies in Windows Media Player. For some reason, BSPlay does not work with a majority of these files...
