Perhaps you've had "Ashampoo Media Player+" previously installed on your PC and you removed it (but apparently not entirely; it seems to me that it still is in your window's register). This is just an assumption as I do'n't know that player myself (and as a BSPlayer-user have no urge to find out at all.)
Try as follows to check if you can use BSPlayer to play the avi you wish to see.
Start up BSPlayer from its shortcut.
Assuming that you use Base-skin (appearance of the "control panel" =main window), press the triange at bottom-left (open file...) and "browse" to the avi in question. Double-click on it (and depending of settings you also have to press [>] play button). Is video desplayed?
