Could you try as follows (assuming you're running WinXP and used the installation's default settings):
While BSPlayer is inactive: rename the file "BSplayer.xml" in
C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\BSplayer (Pro)\ into anything different. Now start BSPlayer.
Result??

(This file holds your settings; perhaps something went wrong; once you remove or rename it, BS.Player will simply create a new file)
