subtitles don't show up

hi there
i've bsplayer 805.27 . working in win xp
i've got some movies (divx and xvid) and downloaded the correct subtitles. all the subtitles are in .srt format.
if i play a movie in bsplayer, the movie plays fine, but i don't see the subtitles. i changed the name of the subtitlefile into the name of the movie file (without the extension ofcours), and copied them in the same dir.

if i play the movies with another player witch handle's subtitles, everything works perfect. the only thing is, that i can't play xvid with that player, so i prefer bsplayer.

can you please help me?
