Another possibility: With a file loaded please check under: (rightclick >) Options > Filters > Advanced If you happen to see "ffdshow Audio Decoder" click on the small [+] and then click on "ffdshow audio" and select "Volume". There you will find an option "Normalize". If it isn't ffdshow, but AC3 filter which you're seeing: I think it also has such option.

For users which maybe are unfamiliar with the use of WinAmp2 DSP plugins in BS.Player: Please go to: (rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Audio > Winamp2 DSP plugins There you can select if Winamp plugins should be enabled/supported. Also (in the south-east quarter) you can select the directory/folder where you saved your WinAmp2 plugins. Finally you can select the plugin to be used and (with an appropriate media-file loaded in BS.Player!) you can Load it and access and set the plugin's properties, using the button "Config". Further .. while playing a file, you can also access the active DSP plugin and set its properties through rightclick > Audio > DSP plugin > etc. Enjoy!

Such a program (there are more like the one you mentioned; also free ones) is used to alter the original file definitively (resp. to create a new one). Using plugins as mentioned in this thread enables you get the result you want "on the fly" (without it being necessary to first process the original file).
