How did you set your preferences?

With respect to codecs, pse refer to the link as mentioned here:
http://forum.bsplayer.org/viewtopic....4a6d75a8e#3211

(On the same downloadpage there is "GSpot" i.e. a proggie which tells you exactly which codecs (video/audio) are used in a videofile and whether it is installed)

When posting always mention your computer's OS and the version and build number(!) of BS.Player as used by you,
as well as - if applicable and especially when encountering problems - the type(s) of the file(s) mentioned in your post.

I kinda face the same problem - have DivX 5.02 codec installed but when I try running an .avi or other DivX movie I get a message telling me that "Unknown file format (DivX)". The movie plays fine in the DivX player but NOT in WMP or BS Player.
Any advice?
thanks.

do you have DivX ;-) MPEG-4 Video Codec ( Low or Fast Motion )
I had to install it to read "old" films ( ante divx 5 ), I had the smae error=
unknown divx format

maybe that can help.
