Default Subtitles with XviD

Hi,

I have an XviD file, and I dled the subtitles for the movie separately. It came in 2 files a .idx and a .sub. I load the movie with BSPLayer and it works fine, then I right click and load the subtitle, which lets me choose the .sub file. I choose it, it seems to accept it, but I dont get any subtitles. Anyone know what the problem coul dbe? Is it that its an XviD? Or does it have something to do with the .idx file. i dont know anything about this, so I would appreicate some help.

BSPlayer doesn't support idx/sub files. For that you need vobsub or you must rip the subtitle using Subrip.

Your subtitle (.idx + .sub) is a graphic based subtitle which, as opposed text-based subtitles (you can check if they are readable in e.g. Notebook), cannot be played using BSPlayer's native feature to play subtitles. It requires an additional application (e.g. VobSub), but the combination often gives problems (e.g. to the effect that textbased subtitles are displayed twice). So, I would suggest to find your subtitle in a text-based format (e.g. in SubRib's .srt or in MicroDVD's .sub format). Under item 9 of my Help to Help post (link at the bottom of this post) you can find subtitle-sites in different languages.
