Default Win98 crashes with b815/6 . . . Solved with build 817

Is it possible that b815 had crashed my Win98 and I had to re-install the whole operating system? This happened to me in two different machines. I think that the new b817 may solve this bug but I need to be sure what causes Win98 to breack down.

Thanks.

On BSPlayer's NEWS-page text following the second bullet under version 1.22 (build 817 of 26 Feb 2005) reads "fixed problems with Win9x/ME".
So, yes (as earlier reported) the old builds 815/816 indeed caused problems for Win-98 and Win-Me, but they are solved in build 817 (i.e. within 3 days after the bug was discovered!)

Thanks for your quick response. I just wanted to make sure what was the exact meaning of "problems with Win98/Me". Now, I know how to reinstall my applications in a safe mode. Thanks again.

Glad to have been of help to you.
As you've read I (as a WinMe user) was one of the users which had these problems with builds 815/816. Of course, quite a lot of improvements were implemented between build 814 and the builds (815/816/817) following it, so I can also understand that some things were overlooked, though I was not really happy at the time.
Therefore, I was very glad indeed when the bug was solved so soon after our reports, which confirms we are right to put our trust in BSPlayer and its developer(s).
