Default crash on loading mpg files (Free build 1.22 (b817))

Hi, I just updated from an old BSplayer (which worked ok) to the free version 1.22. The application crashes when opening any mpg. This is a hard crash, with the "BSPlayer has encountered a problem and needs to close" message under XP. The cursor turns into something odd.

I'm light on details of the crash. It says that the module that is crashing is mpeg2decfilter.ax (version 1.0.0.0) at offset 00013605. I'm not very familiar with this. I tried installing ffdshow, which didn't help.

System Specs:
Athlon XP 2700, Abit NF7 mobo
BFG GeForce FX 5700 (forceware 71.84)
Audigy 2 ZS

Any ideas? Every other format seems to work ok.

Thanks

I think that's Gabest? Maybe you need to install another MPEG2-decoder (See Adicoto's list of codecs; there is a link to it at the bottom of item (4) of my Help2Help-post). Maybe uninstalling or deactivating (%windir%\system32*\regsvr32/u path to\mpeg2decfilter.ax (*: "\system\" for Win9x) ) that filter, so that another filter can step in, could also do the trick? Yet another (and maybe even best) possibility is to define which filters BSPlayer is to use (or not to use):
(rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Filter management

"that" means you chose the third option (=filter management), or ....?
