Default Some mp3s will play in WMP but not BSPlayer. Help!

Out of about 3000 mp3 files, I've got a few, seemingly random, mp3 files that pop up an error box that says "Access violation at address 01ACDFF3 in module 'mpeg2dmx.ax'. Read of address 01B62000." when I try to play them in BSPlayer. If I play them in Windows Media Player 10, they play fine.

I'm using BSPlayer 1.21, Build 816. I've installed the K-lite Mega Codec Pack (latest).

I tried running the offending mp3 in GSpot, but it doesn't show any audio codec (as do none of the mp3s that play fine in BSPlayer). Under "Stat" it says MPEG-1 Layer 3 128 kbps 44100 Hz, for whatever that's worth.

Any ideas what is wrong?

Not to sound ungrateful for this forum or anything, but I'm surprised no BSPlayer and/or codec guru has been able to address this issue for me.

I've stumped the experts!

Some problem perhaps with the MP3 decoder. Try to install DivX 3.11, it comes with a good MP3 decoder.

I'm no expert, but yes, you stumped me by installing Mega Codec Pack with lots of codecs, filters and other "goodies  " and subsequently expecting someone to be able to pinpoint your problem!

(Do you have dvdxcopy installed?)

When posting always mention your computer's OS and the version and build number(!) of BS.Player as used by you,
as well as - if applicable and especially when encountering problems - the type(s) of the file(s) mentioned in your post.

I'd be willing to uninstall the codec pack if it will help solve the problem. Will let you know the result.

And no, I don't have dvdxcopy installed.

I have DivX version 5.05 installed already. Do you mean to install 3.11 instead, or in addition to?

I think the errorbox information refers to Elecard MPEG2 Demultiplexer?
DivX 5.05 is not up-to-date. We have version 5.2.1 at present. So the Mega Codec pack (and all it contains) you installed must be quite old too. It is better to install codecs and filters individually (and certainly no more than needed). This also enables individual updates.
Especially read item (4) of my Help2Help-post (at the end of which there also is a link to adicoto's list of codecs).

P.S.:
Yes adicoto means "in addition to".
There are lots of places where you can find DivX 3.11 Alpha codec or the DivX Audio Compressor (which contains the DivX ;-) Audio codec that came with DivX 3.11 Alpha). E.g. check out these links one, two, three and/or four.
