Default ERROR message ?????

I been using BS player for a while with no problems at all. today i went to open an avi and i get this message...... i reinstalled everything but keep getting this msg ............ please help BS player wont play any file now.

so did i!!!!!!!!! omg........ this really sucks. and also my windows would do a crash and all the icons in my taskbar would be gone......

edit: dunno also but my WMP would also crash when trying to play video files too, but music plays just fine on both. only video is affected.

I have BS Player 1.37 build 826. Sometimes the program gets stuck but most of the time all is working fine.
I upgraded to v 1.38 and got the same error message as mentioned above.
Windows XP SP2
NVIDIA Gforce 4 MX 440 Driver 3.0.8.2
ASUS P4S533 SiS 645DX
