Subtitle Position for Vobsub's(idx+sub) |
| |||
Just test another clip and the idx+sub subtitle is shown at right positon & is also movable. The original problem happens on mkv file w/soft-embedded subtitle. Once the subtitle extracted as an external file, BSplayer handles fine.

One more question... In order to show the idx+sub subtitle on the black space, i must apply "extend to 4:3". Is it right? Once applied, i can see borders added on top & bottomm but the aspect ratio is kept same as media source's, not 4:3. So, i must open menu & force 4:3 again. It is very inconvenient! |

Did you already happen to see this post (click here)? Quote:
What happens if you unselect (rightclick>) Video > Keep aspect ratio? (P.S.: No menu needed: depressing [Shift]/[3] will do the trick as well.) (*): Maybe we should ask for an additional feature: "auto adjust original aspect ratio if 'extend picture' is used".

"auto adjust original aspect ratio if 'extend picture' is used" is fine, but i think "auto extend picture & auto ajust AR" will be much fine! Manual operation 'extend picture' is hard for a newbie. i see MPC & KMP have their subtitle engine. The subtitle is shown inside the image at windows mode, but will be automatically shown outside at fullscren mode(at my case - 4:3 monitor w/wildscreen movie). BSplayer is also good for text subtitle case, but not for idx+sub - is always shown inside the image. Just wonder why idx+sub cannot has the same effect/behavior as text subtitle? |

Have I missed the answer to adicoto's question or are we missing something ..... ? And how about my question? Any difference? :?

"draw subtitle to overlay" is disable, so i can give a negative offset to show the subtitle outside the image - but it is valid for text subtitle only. For idx+sub, a positive offset is valid, but a negative value will lock subtitle at about 90% position. Therefore, i must apply "extend picture to 4:3" & this need to force aspect ratio again. Above mentioned is the case for external idx+sub file. Once soft-embedded into mkv container, all settings are invalid. |
