When I press F to view in full mode part of the picture to the left and right cannot be seen. Is this normal and how to view the whole picture in full mode?

Hello,
The subs have the exactly same name as the film with the exception of the extension, of course. However, the do not show even if I manually point to them! BS 2.53.
Please help.

I have just noticed that BSP has suddenly stopped playing the video of flv; the audio is produced, but there is no video displayed.
