Default Subtitles won't work properly

When I play a .mkv file with custom-made subtitles in WMP, the colors of the subtitles show up perfectly, but when I play the same file in BS Player, the subtitles turn black. Any idea how to fix this?

This may be caused by ass/ssa subtitle still being supported less then 100% by BS.Player. What version are you running? You may also try if selection of "Use new subtitle parser/renderer" under (rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Subtitles (>[Subtitle properties]) makes any difference.

All it did was make the subtitles bigger.

If you have Aero enabled, you can change to VMR9 or 7. If not, I sugest internal renderer (default).
Changing the rendering engine won't affect your computer or your software. You can select one by one and see which is the best on your computer configuration.
