Default Newbie needs help!

I need some help I just downloaded the free version of BS.player 2.28. I am trying to watch a .mkv file but I have no audio. More so I don't know if its the BS.player or the file itself that is the problem. I'm using vista if it makes any difference. Any help in figuring out why I don't have audio would be greatly appreciated =)!

And read BSPeter's FAQs (link in my and Ico-man signature)
There are programs such as GSpot which can tell you what codecs you need in order to play your files ;)

MKV usually require AC3Filter to be installed. It should handle everything OK.

When prompted by BS.Player at installation allow it to download the missing/outdated codecs/filters.
