Default .OGM-Files Audio still is not working properly

Hi!

As I saw in this forum, I'm not the only one with this problem. It seems to be known since 2003 and is still not taken care of.

Here we go again:

I'm using BSplayer V1.00.807 RC1, OggDS V0.9.9.5, and the Vorbis Ogg ACM Codec V1.0. Video-Codec is Xvid and it works just fine. No problems there.

BUT the audio is lagging, studdering and chopped off. It also does this, when playing audio-only .ogg-Files on BSplayer. On other players the .ogm and the .ogg-Files are running smoothly. Therefore it seems to be a player related problem.

Would be nice to see that fixed, since I really like this player. But as I gather more and more .ogm and .ogg-Files, I don't want to handle two or more players.

Just take this as another hint, that this is important matter many people want to see resolved.

Thanks,

D.

I confirm this bug. It still exists in version 1.00 RC1 Build 808. When I play the same file in VPlayer or Media Player Classic the audio works fine, only BSPlayer has problems with that :/
But I also see people on this forum say that ogm movies are playing fine, so maybe it's hardware related?

Well, I have Athlon XP 2500+, SB Audigy2, 1024MB RAM DDR, Radeon 9800, Abit NF7-S v2.0
Running WinXP SP1

Check that you have latest version (i.e. build 808 of 30-04-2004).
If not download it from the official download page
An updated build 808 was made available very recently in which this issue perhaps may have been remedied:
Quote:
30.04.2004 Update
- Fixed broken shortcut for skins
- Some fixes for systems with large fonts
- Fixed bug in 'Jump to time' dialog, movie length was displayed twice
- Subtitle position wasn't always remebered, fixed
- Fixed another problem with audio streams in OGM files
- Fixed some bugs with loading subtitles, sometimes wrong subtitle was loaded

I downloaded the newest build. At first the problem was still there, but then in BSPlayer's Audio preferences I changed the Output device from "SB Audigy 2 Audio [9000]" to "DirectSound: SB Audigy 2 Audio [9000]" and now the sound in ogm files is ok :)
