ricepicker is an unknown quantity at this point
Default i get an error...
whenever i'm watching a video and i want to switch to playing a game, but i don't want to close BS player, i get an error in bs player when the game starts. is there way i can stop this? thanks.

Probably it tryies to use the graphic card in the same way as BSPlayer and both can't use the same resources.

so is it because my gfx card is not good enough to handle it? i have an ATI 9000 atlantis pro. i don't think its THAT bad.

It's most probably simply like adicoto already told you

Maybe if you try another setting under (rightclick) > Options > Preferences > Video > Video rendering
