display action / status question (i realize this is probably a simple question but the answer eludes me so i am asking here.) |
| ||||
An "upper left display for changing aspect ratio" To change aspect ratio... ...rightclick > Video > Aspect ratio > ... (or use the shortcut keys as mentioned there.) Alternatively you can "cycle aspect ratios" by (repeatedly) depressing key [A]. Then indeed the aspect ratio selected is shown a few seconds in the upper left corner of the video window. Maybe that's what you mean? This unless you've redefined this shortcut key of course (under rightclick > Options > Preferences > Key definitions & WinLIRC > ...) Further make sure that "OSD" hasn't been disabled otherwise the selected aspect ratio will not be displayed of course. To verify: rightclick > Options > Preferences > Video > [OSD] "[v] Enable OSD" Also, depending on the rendering mode you're using, the option "[ ] Draw OSD messages to overlay" should be either switched on or off.
