Read under MISCELLANEOUS item (d) Girder / WinLIRC / Remote controls / (Multimedia) Keyboard near the bottom of my Help2Help-post (link at bottom).

When posting always mention your computer's OS and the version and build number(!) of BS.Player as used by you,
as well as - if applicable and especially when encountering problems - the type(s) of the file(s) mentioned in your post.

Could someone please guide me through the steps? I have a Leadtek's remote that works with Leadtek's receiver that goes into a Leadtek Winfast DTV 2000 H tvcard. I want to make it work with bs player and not only its video capture application - Winfast.

I have Girder 3.3 as well as Girder 3.4. I read through help that you offer at links on this thread but I'm clueless. Please help.

Thanks!

I don't have a first clue about how to make it work with my Leadtek remote and receiver. And I'm pretty good at computers and understanding them. :) So my basic question is: how do you set up Girder?

You can download WinLIRC, ther either record your remote control buttons or download an already made file for it (links at WinLIRC or LIRC page)

Then download WinLIRC plugin for Girder (available at promixis homepage) and enable it in Girder preferences.

There's plenty of guides out there on how to use Girder + WinLIRC to handle all your PC's apps.
If you want you can use only WinLIRC since BSplayer accepts commands sent by WinLIRC (you have to set the remote controls in BSplayer preferences window CTRL+P -> Keyboard definitions & WinLIRC)

If you need more help come back and ask again ;)

thank you. that was helpful because it explained alot of things. but the thing is. I don't have a receiver on my serial port. I have leadtek's DTV card (tv capture) which has input for a remote sensor that is controled by leadtek's remote controler.

I'll see if I can find a link to the product.
http://www.leadtek.com/eng/tv_tuner/...&pronameid=252

now, is it possible to use WinLIRC with that or do I need to have reciever on serial port? thanks!

Mmhm :?
I don't know... Probably you need a plugin for your receiver to work with Girder.. Have you already checked if @ promixis site is available such a plugin?
There are at least 5 plugins for WinFast tuners, you have to try them, I don't know if they'll work with your specific tuner device...

Otherwise you can create your own receiver (I built mine and spent less than 5€ ;) )
