Default Brightness again

OK so I've used BS Player for a long time now, and it all worked well. I always need to configure something with brightness, but that was no problem for now, I used this shortcut:
video -> color options -> brightness
today I've updated my graphics drivers and well, it all went to hell.
video -> color options -> brightness doesn't work anymore.
I can set it from 0 to 100 and it makes no difference. I have to go all the way around:
options -> preferences -> video -> FDD show properties
there it works. why has that changed since my driver update?
Can I somehow change that back?

I'm using spam free 1.37 version. Did when it all worked and do now, when it's "broken" :>

You fail to say what graphics card (and driver) you have, but I could imagine that if you change your driver to the previous one it would also reverse this behaviour. (Do you happen to have already read this thread?)

Adware-support for free version was abandoned about a year ago already now (click here to read). So also most up-to-date free version has no adware companion. Also you can deselect BS.Player's toolbar at installation and/or or uninstall it lateron if you don't like it.

When posting always mention your computer's OS and the version and build number(!) of BS.Player as used by you,
as well as - if applicable and especially when encountering problems - the type(s) of the file(s) mentioned in your post.

thanks for you answer
I got back my old drivers, still nothing.
I have ASUS EAH4850 but I fail to see how that's relevante since it worked before.
